Mother’s Day Celebration: Love extended through Art

“It may be possible to gild pure gold, but who can make his mother more beautiful?” -Mahatma Gandhi

Yes, each child knew that his/her mother is the best in the world. They could not make her more beautiful but in an attempt to show how lovely she is, the students of Cambridge International School, Phagwara took to the medium of art. Mother’s Day was celebrated through the activity of Card-Making at school and giving it to their Mothers at home. Each card was a concrete reflection of that abstract love. It well expressed what William Makepeace Thackeray puts in words:

“Mother is the name of God in the lips and hearts of little children.”

This was practically tested at school as well. The art was highly appreciative. Their love was flawless. The Mothers felt special. The children developed their aesthetic faculty even more. Their creativity was seen to double when it was something that they were doing for their adorable mothers. Beautiful colors, amazing designs, unforeseen creativity decorated the event.

The Kindergarteners were also a part of this celebration. This was an activity which involved the whole school in into its bounds. But in this wing, the celebration was made with a difference. The Mothers were also involved in this celebration which ended in fun and frolic for all.

Going back home with love and a greeting card made out of sheer love, the students definitely made their mothers feel special. It was rightly reflected that:

“Motherhood: All love begins and ends there.” -Robert Browning
